1)Cambridge Dictionary® says "earely(Adv.) means "Not often"

Does it really means not often or only on a few occasions?


2)It mean they don't apply in normal playing or that it applies but on a few occasions?

Does it really means 'not often' or 'only on a few occasions'?
It can mean either - and often there is no difference.


2)Does I it mean they don't apply in normal playing or that it they appliesy but on a few occasions?It means that they do not often apply - i.e, they apply, but on few occasions.

This is the sort of question that you should be able to answer from your own knowledge of the game.
