    Default reading dates

    How do we read dates?
    1800 and 1816
    and there is an -s at the end of 1800 "1800s" what is it?

    1800 - eighteen hundred
    1808 - eighteen oh eight
    1816 - eighteen sixteen

    the 1800s - the eighteen hundreds (the years 1800-1899)
