    Default "Under duress"

    Hi,

Are there any other ways to say: "He had to read the script under duress by his kidnappers"

    Thanks

The kidnappers made him read the script. ?

There was nothing else he could do - he had to read it. ..

    (I don't see the problem... ?

He was forced by his kidnappers to read the script.
His kidnappers forced him to read the script.

His kidnappers made him read the script.

There's not really an alternative standard phrase for "under duress" without knowing how they were making him read the script (ie they were threatening him with torture, or threatening to kill his family etc).
