Please set me clear on the following in red.

Put yourself in their shoes and acknowledge their experience. You don't have to agree with them; just acknowledge by saying something like, "I can see where you're coming from."

I know what "come from" usually means. But here it seems to mean "I can see how you feel"? Is that correct?
