Hi.
"Chunks of sth" means "pieces of sth"?
Usually- what's the context?
"Chunks" is a difficult word to describe. It does mean pieces, as in less than a whole, but the description does not really say how big a "chunk" is. To my mind, a chunk is more than a piece - "Large chunks of the tree flew out of the saw." One could say, "That's quite a chunk of money", but the only thing you learn from this is that there is a fair amount of money, but not how much.
I was going to comment that in most cases a "chunk" is not a uniformly-sized piece. If I asked you to hack me a chunk of meat off of a roasted pig, for example, I would not expect the exact same size and shape as the next guy got.
In the example given, though, in dealing with computer memory in "chunks" that isn't true. It is uniformly sized.
