Could anyone please tell me which one is correct
Fill in the blanks with present participles.
According to me the 1st one is correct. Please give your valuable suggestions
- Considering her abilities, she should have scored higher.
- Knowing her abilities, she should have scored higher.

(1) May I add my two cents to the moderator's excellent answer?
(2) I think that many books would analyze "considering" in your sentence
as a preposition. As Professor Quirk explains in his famous book, your first
sentence is something like:
If one considers her abilities, she should have ....
(3) In No. 2, "knowing" is, in my opinion only, a genuine participle that modiifies
the subject "she." It might mean something like: She knew her abilities, so she is
ashamed that she did not score higher. That is probably NOT the idea that you
wished to convey. So No. 1 is the "correct" answer.
