Default worth of stuff each hour

Please look at the sentence and explain to me:

    (1) "Around the world, people use Visa cards to pay for, on average, $643 milliom worth of stuff each hour." What does "worth of stuff" stand for?

    (2) Visa often gets a cut there, too, since the company has a growing ATM business - What does "get a cut" mean here?

    Thank you very much

Default Re: worth of stuff each hour

The value of the stuff, the products and services, paid for every hour by Visa is $643 million dollars.

Visa earns a cut, a percentage, of this.
Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.
