Hello. I've never heard of Cave Mother baking dinosaur eggs before.
Is there any fairy tale about Cave Mother?
Thank you.
I wish I could live
In a book
All wrapped up
In my fairy
God-mother's arms
Or sitting with my Cave
Mother baking dinosaur
Eggs
What is the source of this quotation?
They are from a poem by Nikki Giovanni.
The title is "I Wish I Could Live (in a Book)."
It's not from a fairy tale that I know and it just says a book, so it could be something different- an illustrated book of the Stone Age, etc. It seems to be more about the world of escapism that books offer than anything more specific IMO.
I don't know the book, but I imagine the 'Cave Mother' means 'my mother, in the time of the cavemen' (ignoring - perhaps for literary convenience but more probably from plain ignorance - the fact that several million years separated the cavemen from the dinosaurs).
