contermporary?

Do you have any term for a workmate who joined the company at a similar time? or Can you use "contemporary" to mean it? I wonder if you have any specific term for it or no way but to describe in a phrase rather than a term.

- He is my contemporary at work

Is this okay to use to mean it?

['Contemporary' does not work for me in this sense. I don't think we have a specific noun for this. I'd say, "He and I joined the firm/started here together/at the same time.

He was my contemporary at Oxford means that he was at Oxford at the same time as I; we did not necessarily know each other.
