Default Question about 'who' or 'what'

    Hi Teachers,
According to this answer, 'Santa Claus is a combination of many different legends.'
Which is the correct option, 'a' or 'b'?
    a) Who is Santa Claus?
    b) What is Santa Claus?

    Thanks in advance

Santa Claus may well be a combination of legends, but in all those legends, he is a person. Consequently, "Who" would be appropriate. You could use "what" in something like "What is the Santa Claus legend a combination of?" - Answer: "The Santa Claus legend is a combination of many different legends from around the world."
