Dear Sir/Madam,
I have read a sentence on an electronic dictionary. That is "I escaped from the party as soon as was decently possible.".
Is there anything grammatically wrong with the preceding sentence? I dont know what is the subject of the verb was.
Thank you so much.
There is nothing grammatically wrong with the sentence. The subject of the verb 'was' would be 'it.' To write out the sentence completely, it would read as follows:
I escaped from the party as soon as it was decently possible to escape.
It's so amazing. Thank you a lot.
