present perfect vs past perfect "How long have you been with your partner before you considered being married?"
Could this sentence have been said by a native speaker?

Teacher Re: present perfect vs past perfect It's very unlikely. We'd say 'had you been' or 'were you'. We'd also probaby say 'getting married' rather than 'being married'.
Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.
