    Default call

Somebody tries to phone me up at my place, but I am not home.
    Would one say:

    1-He called my place.
    or:
    2-He called at my place.
    or:
3-He tried to call me at my place.

    Thanks TDOL,

Can't 2 also be used when:
a-he went to my place to visit me, but I wasn't home
    and:
b-he went to my place to visit someone else (implied)

For me 2 meant: he came (went) to my place for a visit.
