Could you tell me if the explanation given to the underlined words sounds natural?
The man is disturbing her because he is snoring.
Explanation:
When someone who is sleeping is snoring, they produce a strident sound when they respire.

As your question is about Snoring, that would have been a better thread title.
I prefer the WordReference Dictionary definition of snore:
Snoring is not always strident and respire is not a commonly used word.a snorting or grunting sound in a person's breathing while they are asleep.

So sorry for my inappropriate thread title and thank you for your reply.
On the other hand, if i use 'respire' it is because the verb is very similar to 'respirar' which is the Spanish one. Much easier to understand to my students than the verb 'breathe'.
