Thank you. | I think it's British. In Canada we say go to the washroom (ladie's washrrom & men's washroom), I think the Americans say bathroom.
Other expressions:
go to the can
go to little girls' room/ little boys' room
go on the potty
to go and sit on the throne |

| | Re: go to toilet "I gotta wring out my sock" ???
I am not familiar with this one but it sure sounds disgusting! My brother-in-law: I gotta go bake a chicken.
Are you sure it wasn't brownies? ( just as disgusting...chicken would definitely sound better !) |

The implication, I had to go, but couldn't make it to the can. Result, socks are wet now, so I best go and wring 'em out. Quote: I gotta go bake a chicken.

| Well, according to my bro-in-law, brownies don't smell like a chicken that's been baking. |

Yes, now that makes sense what you said. I don't know why I didn't think about it.
As for the chickem and brownies, both smell delicious ... in the kitchen, that is. |

| | Re: go to toilet What about "go sit on the john"?
We Americans say, "go to the potty", too.
We also say, "Where's the restroom?" or "I need to go to the restroom."
--SMS Edit: Yes, we say "#1 and #2".
