In the tv-show Extras, the character Andy says the following line:
What is the point in getting alltarted up like this if you're not going to make it to the scene?
Would be correct to say:
What is the point in getting all tarted up like this if you're not going to make it into the scene?
Is there any difference? To me the latter sounds somehow better.
Thanks in advance.
"Into the scene" makes more sense to me. This is assuming, of course, that the characters are talking about one of them getting accepted to appear in a scene of a show.
