Hi
What's the name of the small machine, mostly could be found in stores, that enables people - in case of having a debit card- to transfer a sum of money to the seller's bank account?
Credit card reader is one term.
They come under the term "Merchant Services" and are called "Credit Card Machines", sometimes "Credit Card Readers", "Chip and Pin Machines" (rarely). Recently, I have been hearing "Point of Sale equipment" but I think that might apply to the new technology where you can use your mobile phone to make payments.
Thanks a lot, but have you heard kind of acronym? as 'CCR' or 'CCM' ?
To be honest, I have rarely heard any term used- they just bring them to the table or they're on the counter.
I only know about them from my job in a shop. We just call them the "card machines". There may be an acronym though I didn't find CCR or CCM coming up as one on Google, for anything related to these kinds of machines.
