logical connection between Q and A
Question: Has mom changed in the meanwhile?
Answer: No. She got even weirder.
hi,
In the dialogue above,
Is there any way I can re-frame the question so that it fits better with its answer? (The answer cannot be touched.)
I guess the questioner was asking if mom had changed (for the better) and that's why the answerer said "No" because she thought her mom got even weirder.
Should I add a phrase like "for the better" or something similar to that to the question to make it clearer
or is it OK as it is without it?
I would prefer to keep things short and simple but if it doesn't make sense, then I would have to add something to it.
Thanks

If we are dealing with natural conversation, then it is normally the answer that may have to be adjusted to be suitable for the question.
Context is important. Please provide enough for us to be able to deal effectively with your question.
Your thread title should include all or part of the word/phrase being discussed.

I agree with 5jj that in a natural conversation, one makes the answer fit the question. However, if your answer must be "No, she [has] got even weirder", then the possible questions I can think of are:
- Has mum stayed the same in the meantime?
- Has mum got less weird in the meantime?
- Has mum's behaviour/personality improved in the meantime?
