    Hi. Is the following sentence correct? Despite the saying, "today a reader, tomorrow a leader"

    Ouh! I forgot to write the sentence completely. It is: In conclusion, despite the saying, “today a reader, tomorrow a leader”, I strongly believe that books are not the only source for our learning. My question deals with the despite the fact, "..." format of the sentence. Is there any mistake dealing with punctuation?

    I would remove the comma after "saying" and before the actual saying, so that it's clear that that is the saying to which you refer.
