yes-no question
Hello,
I have just seen it while watching a movie.
-So you don't like football.
- No, I love football. It's a great sport.
I thought that the answer is:
- Yes, I love football. It's a great sport.
Could you please help me which answer is proper responce?

No, I love football. It's a great sport.
This is correct. "No, (that's not true) I love football..."
You could also say "Yes I do, I love football..."

Person A is claiming that Person B does not like football. However, that is not true. Person B does like football. So their reply basically means "No. You are wrong when you say that I don't like football. I love it. It's a great sport."

The first sentence is negative and in the second sentence the second person wants to disagree with the first idea so No, I love football. It's a great sport. is correct.
