Is this write to say?
My question is how did you prepare for exams?(Can I write or speak sentence like this?)
Find me a chair. (Can I speak?)
It is right to say:
How did you prepare for exams?
Can you find me a chair (or seat)?
Right (without the 'W')
But if you see Wabflob's reply in last post ,then you find the following sentence
My question to the OP is what is meant by "sounding awkward"?
Hi every one,
I am new to this website. I am trying to improve my English writing skills and I am looking for websites that can help. I really hope this is it. However I am not exactly sure. Website I am looking for is it that provides different topic or gives specific title for writer to write freely. The great benefit to it is other can see and critique for the best and learner like me can learn from other and improve English writing skills.

My question is how did you prepare for exams?
Find me a chair.
NOT A TEACHER
(1) I should feel more comfortable with "How did you prepare for the exams." I think
that you are asking that person about some specific exams.
(2) As the teacher told us, it would be more idiomatic (the way native speakers use
the language) to use the word seat.
(You and a friend enter a crowded restaurant)
A friend: Wow! Look at all those people.
You: Are there any seats?
A friend: Yeah. I see two near the kitchen door.
(3) It would be correct if you really (in fact) wanted a chair (not a table, bed, desk, etc.)
You: How many chairs are at the table?
A friend: 10.
You: I have invited 11 people. Quickly! Find/get me another chair.

NOT A TEACHER
(1) You have found the right website.
(2) We are currently in a forum called "Ask a Teacher."
(3) If you go to the forum named "Editing & Writing Topics," you can post
some writing, and excellent teachers will check your writing and make helpful
suggestions. If you wanted to, you could post some writing there every day.
Good luck!
My question to the OP is what is meant by "sounding awkward"?
(Is it write or not?)
If it is right ,then why mine?
NOT A TEACHER
(1) As you know, there are many teachers (and non-teachers) who are very
happy to answer questions from learners (especially those
learners who have the good manners to thank people for answering them).
(2) Maybe no one has answered you yet because your question is not
clear. Could you please express your question in a clearer way? Then I
am sure that you will receive MANY answers. In fact, you might want to start
a new thread.
