Both are correct. But your question should read "Is this right?" The reason is that we don't use 'it' in such a bare sentence unless 'it' refers to something already mentioned (or which is about to be mentioned): "Is it right that in Indian cookery we add salt to the onions as soon as we begin to fry them?"

Or, better yet, since you have two questions, it should read: "Are these right?"
