    Default of which the name

    1. He's written a book whose name I've forgotten.
    2. He's written a book of which the name I've forgotten.
#1 is supposed to be correct. Is #2 also acceptable?

Note: I have completely edited my response as when I went back and read it I realised my original answer was terrible!!

I don't like any one of the above, except 1. and:
He's written a book, the name of which I've forgotten.

    My feeling also.

Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.
