    What does the following in red mean in the context?

    Over the several years, Jobs let the company (Pixar) run up an estimated $50 million in debts, which he personally guaranteed. But he never could find computer magic.
    While he put most of his attention on NeXT, Jobs let the Pixar executives run the company.
