Smile I hope he doesn't push

Hello. What does 'push' mean in this sentence below?
Does it mean 'move with force' or anything else?
    Thank you.

Is he nice? I hope he doesn't push.

I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

The sentence is from a picture book. Thank you.

    ----------------------
Children gathered around and their questions came from all sides.
Everyone wanted to know more about Nerville.

    "What's Neville like?"
    "Does he play ball?"
    "Is he funny?"
"Is he nice? I hope he doesn't push."
"Does he have brothers or sisters or pets?"

It sounds like a piece from a rather old-fashioned children's book (Enid Blyton style) and I think it probably means that they hope he is not the sort of child who pushes other children in the playground, or when they are playing together. If that is the case, then it sort of means "to move with force" but when a person pushes another person, it's usually a surprise and the person who has been pushed might fall over or stumble.
