    Which punctuation is correct?

    1) I was not looking forward to the holiday, until I won a Mediterranean cruise!
    2) Until I won a Mediterranean cruise I was not looking forward to the holiday
    3) Until I won a Mediterranean cruise I was not looking forward to the holiday.
    4) I was not looking forward to the holiday; until I won a Mediterranean cruise.

    NOT A TEACHER

    I "vote" for No. 1.

No. 2 does not have a period.

No. 3 needs a comma after "cruise."

No. 4 is out of the question.

I think the semi colon in #4 is a possibility. Is there 2 'clauses' that can stand alone,on each side of the semi-colon?

    No.

'...until I won a cruise' cannot stand alone.

"Are" there two, not "is" there two.

I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
