As you said your self, "Some people say New Year resolution. Some say New Year's resolution." Both are considered correct.

(2) As the moderator told us, both are used by native speakers.

(3) Nevertheless, I respectfully suggest that you use "New Year's." Why?

Because it seems to be traditional and because no one will say that you are

wrong.

(4) If you use "New Year," some people will ask themselves: Is that correct?

(5) I think, however, that eventually "New Year" will "win" the competition.

"New Year resolutions" looks "cleaner" than "New Year's resolutions" with its

apostrophe (which also makes it harder to pronounce).

(6) Whatever you do, do NOT write "New Years resolutions."
