In Colloquial language ,is it correct to say 'she didn't look WELL to me'
ie: she is ill
or I have to say ' she didn't look GOOD to me'?
I've said the first in a presentation infront of lots of people. Was that very wrong?
Thanks
Christina
There's nothing at all wrong with "to look well". The opposite is "unwell".Originally Posted by Christina Schmitter
Christina, you did well. There's no reason to worry. Keep in mind that you were using colloquial language, so either "good" or "well" would have been acceptable.
In addition,
[1] She didn't look well to me. (unhealthy)
[2] She didn't look good to me. (unhealthy)very colloquial
Cf. She looked bad to me.![]()
