How far? How far is it in kilometers from Elm avenue to Olive St.?
This question asks about the distance in km. How can we ask about the time it takes?

Re: How far? Just a side note, it's common where I live (and I expect more broadly) to state distances in terms of time. I say that I live about 45 minutes from Philadelphia. When people ask how far I am from New York City, I say "about 2 1/2 to 3 hours."
So from one street to another, you'll probably get distance, but from one city to another, you'll often get time.Last edited by Barb_D; 05-Jan-2012 at 21:00.
