    Hi teachers

    The following two sentences:

    (1) The vertical position of a and b are....
    (2) The vertical positions of a and b are...

    Which one is right?

    Of the two, only #2 is possible.

    Could you give us the whole sentence? What you are planning to say might be unnatural.

    The whole sentence is "The vertical positions of the grid points on each axis are determined via the monitoring function".
