Hi, I have a sentence, ' They are trying to reach a point ____ they can both sit down and talk.' (where/ that)? Which word shold I choose to fill in the blank? or both are acceptable?
Thanks!![]()
'Where' here means "at which". If you try to use 'that', you're missing a pronoun.
"They are trying to reach a point that they can talk at". Once you've realise that you need "at", and knowing that you can't write "a point at that they can sit down...", you are left with choosing between "at which" and "where".
