Where do we fit...? Would you please rewrite the following in red more easily?
"Our customers want to know, 'Who is Apple' and "What is it we stand for?' Where do we fit in this world?" he explained to one gathering...

I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
