two different meaning of 'fight'

I heard the following dialogue when I was watching a moive.

A: I had some very good memories there.
B: What kind of good memories, your mother and father fighting all the time.

Question 1. Is it correct to say 'What kind of good memories, your mother and father were fighting all the time.'

Question 2. 'fight' has two different meaning ie.1. to use physical force to try to defeat another person or group of people 2. to argue. If we hear somebody says : "They're fighting" how can we distinguish they use physical force or just to argue?

No. The non-interrogative would be "You have good memories of your father and mother fighting all the time" so no other verb is necessary.

Question 2. 'fight' has two different meaning ie.1. to use physical force to try to defeat another person or group of people 2. to argue. If we hear somebody says : "They're fighting" how can we distinguish they use physical force or just to argue?

Without more context, it's impossible to tell in this piece whether the father and mother were arguing or physically fighting.

1. You may be correct, but it depends on the inflection. If the speaker means to be sarcastic, there should be a question mark at the end and the words would stand as quoted. 'What kind of good memories? (memories of) Your mother and father fighting all the time? (Do you call those good memories?)' Or, as you think, 'What kind of good memories? Your mother and father were fighting all the time!' It's also possible you missheard. The word were, in this sentence, might have been almost lost after the word father. "'...yer mother 'n father 'er fighting all th' time..."
2. We can't. We normally assume the #2 definition in a marriage.
