Thread: "Graduation" or "graduating"

    Default "Graduation" or "graduating"

    Hi everyone.
    So, I've got this sentence:

    "A worldwide survey of students showed that after (graduate) they would be looking for jobs that allowed them to balance their personal lives with their work lives."

    The word in brackets needs to be changed into the correct form.
    My teacher says it's "graduating", and that makes perfect sense. But I was just wondering if "graduation" could be used as well, or would that be a mistake? It's what I've always wrote in things like this until now.

    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
