I have seen the following sentences somewhere.


1-Afghan presidential panel says 30 civilians died in German-ordered US airstrike”.(what is meant by "German-ordered US airstrike". )


2-I was ordered to serve 5-years in jail. (Made by me, Is it right? )

3- Is "Person" always a singular word?. Can we make its plural and use in sentence like given

Sweets are to be distributed into two persons.

I have seen the following sentences somewhere.


1-Afghan presidential panel says 30 civilians died in German-ordered US airstrike”.(what is meant by "German-ordered US airstrike". ) It means the German military asked the Americans to launch the air strike.


2-I was ordered to serve 5-years in jail. (Made by me, Is it right? ) It's understandable but "I was sentenced to 5 years in jail" is more natural.

3- Is "Person" always a singular word?. Can we make its plural and use in sentence like given

Sweets are to be distributed/given to two persons.This is fine.
