see vs sees
" Anybody ____ Lila ? We are looking for her.
see or sees ?
I think anybody is a singular subject. ' sees ' is the answer right ?

The expression is "Anybody see Lila?" Perhaps that violates the "rule", but that is the way it is. At any rate, that is short for "Does anybody see Lila", which is a variation of "Has anybody seen Lila?" (I sure hope they find Lila soon.)

I sure would tell people to say ' does anybody see Lila " instead of encouraging them to chop off something from a sentence :P. My head spins seeing this kind of sentence :(

It's an elliptical sentence that has lost the auxiliary verb, so 'sees' would sound rather strange.
