I can't find the difference between to vs toward
Can I put "to" instead of "toward" in the sentence below?
You don't need to thank everyone you've ever met or members of your family that have done nothing toward this.
I don't think so. It's possible, but sounds much less natural.

towards/toward(to + wards/ward)denote the direction to something(like skyward, heavenward).to mostly denotes a relation.Ofcourse the relation can be 'direction', but it frequently denote intention, position, etc.
