You still don't understand. I'm going to be blunt, for your own good. "U" is not an English word, and many of us will not repond kindly to it. There is probably a word for "you" in your own native language, and when someone refers to you, you'd probably expect them to use it (and perhaps you'd even expect the correct polite/familiar form of it). In English, you only need to learn one form "you".
You will read all sorts of complete rubbish on the internet, much of which appears to be English, but which isn't. Students who come here want to learn proper English. Well, I assume that most do, or they'd hang out at sites which you learn your "English" at. Most people outside of chat rooms, pick-up sites and adolescent hang-outs will not appreciate this sort of nonsense that you might believe is English. You will not endear yourself to anyone with it.
I suspect you're a troll; but I also know that some very slow learners sometimes come here and can't take simple advice, so I've given you the benefit of the doubt.
If you feel obliged to thank me for this advice, please don't use 'u' or 'U' in your reply - or any other word which is not English. (You could also use your native language, and that would reveal at least something genuine about you.)
Please write in normal English- this is a forum about English and not a chatroom. However, things seem to be flaring up in this thread- could we take a bit of the heat out, please.
Hi Tdol, there's no heat behind my posts (at least in this thread). It's just pretty much straight forward explanation on my part, trying to get the poster to understand. Maybe there was some frustration. I know it's sometimes hard to tell the emotional content of a post, and especially mine sometimes. Perhaps I should add some smileys more often.
But there have been no posts for 24 hours. I would have assumed that the thread was finished - hardly a sign of things flaring up.
Sorry- I came to it cold having been away from the forum for a couple of days, so I was out of sync and didn't want it to escalate. It was in my new threads list.![]()
