How should we describe the action of killing mosquitoes?

1. The boy is killing mosquitoes in his room.
2. The boy is clapping mosquitoes in his room. (Can this be accepted?)
3. The boy is slapping mosquitoes in his room. (Can this be accepted?)
4. The boy is swatting mosquitoes with his hands. (is it ok to swat something with hands?)

or any other better solution? Thanks

2. The boy is clapping mosquitoes in his room. (Can this be accepted?) No. There is a slang phrase about "clapping someone in jail", but that doesn't work here.
3. The boy is slapping mosquitoes in his room. (Can this be accepted?) OK, but you normally slap someone on the face. I suppose that you could slap at a mosquito.
4. The boy is swatting mosquitoes with his hands. (is it ok to swat something with hands?) OK

#4 seems to be the best choice if the boy is only using his hands to kill the mosquitoes.

He'd stand more chance of killing mosquitoes by whacking them with a fly-swatter or rolled-up newspaper.

Better still, he could spray the room with Raid.
