    Default evolving thinking

Hi, Does "Evolving" here as it usual meaning here?

I'm just not used to see "An evolving thinking" ...

Rouse undertook his memo at his own instigation, but he
was perfectly in sync with Obama’s evolving thinking

Yes it does. Your problem may be with the use of 'thinking' to mean 'way of thinking' . Rouse was in sync with the way Obama was thinking, which was evolving [that is, it was a moving target but Rouse's behaviour fitted in with the way it was turning out].

Bob Hi, I think that I understand it now as "Develop" thinking, I'm sorry but I didn't understand what you explained here "that is, it was a moving target but Rouse's behaviour fitted in with the way it was turning out" but I really will like to understand :)

Obama's thinking was changing, developing, Rouse behaved in a way that fitted in with the developments.

I hope that helps, flowersa. I'll try again if it's still unclear, but I think Bhai's done a good job!

PS I used an idiomatic phrase that maybe was hard to understand. When something's 'a moving target' you can't just aim at it; you have to aim at where it's going to be.

Hi Bob thanks ... I think that I understood almost what you wanted to say with your last post, so Obama was a moving target (his mind) and Rouse aimed at it, so he had his ways to think about something that Obama will like?

'Aim' is maybe a bit of a strong word, but I started it.
