Which of these sentences uses grammar correctly? (Points : 1) Stearns and Foster sells its mattresses in town. Stearns and Foster sell their mattresses in town. Stearns and Foster sells their mattresses in town.
Hello phillipw280,
This question comes up regularly, and the answer is that it is mostly a question of style with a smidgen of BrE versus AmE thrown in just for fun.
It all turns on how you view "Sterns & Foster". Is it a company or is it a group of people that make up a company? The best example I have is the following:
British Airways are pleased to announce new daily service from London to Denver.
United Airlines is pleased to announce new daily service from Denver to London.
Which ever one you choose, just be consistent in your writing and you'll be OK.
