    Arrow Bring Up

"The defendants contended they were trading for Oakford customers, not for themselves, prosecutors said. Prosecutors also brought up charges of trading by brokers for their own benefit ahead of that of their clients, a practice called front-running."

How is "bring up charges" different from "bring charges"?

'Bring up' is probably used incorrectly here, in my opinion.. If you 'bring charges', you take a formal action in law. If you 'bring up' charges, you merely mention them.

bring charges legal definition of bring charges. bring charges synonyms by the Free Online Law Dictionary.

Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.
