    Default a visit and fiscal

Hi, can you explain what does "Visit" means in this context?

I'm almost sure that "Fiscal" means Financially?

"As 2006 rolled on, the requests poured in—urgent, desperate pleas from Democratic
candidates fervent in the view that a visit from Obama would be their fiscal and political salvation"

That's what it means. Come to see them during their election campaigns.
