Default Can you use employ in this context?

    Hi there

I just wanted to hear if I can use the verb employ like this:

I am quite sure it will! At least now you know what to do, now it is all about employing it!

And do you comprehend what I mean?

    Not without more context.
Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.

    Ok here is an examlpe:

Now that you know it is changing your study habits, you just have to employ them to become successful.

    I hope it helped?

Not really. As the sentence stands, it seems to use 'it' in the first clause and 'them' in the second to refer to the same thing. It is therefore difficult to say whether 'employing' is appropriate.

Ok well, I might try a new example:

Now that you have gained some new knowledge, you just have to employ it in your assignment.

That's acceptable. In my opinion, 'use' is simpler.
