I need to make a headline for my article. I am not sure thought that it makes sense:
The Nobility get a Christian Burial
Can I use "the Nobility" meaning a noble person?
thank you very much for your help
The Nobility means all the noble people. Are they all dead? Did they all receive a Christian burial? Probably not.
'The Nobleman received a Christian burial.' or 'The Noblewoman' received a Christian burial.' These two terms are rather archaic and seldom seen these days. If the person did have some hereditary title, then that specific title might be used. 'The Earl received a Christian burial.' 'Countess Flatula received a Christian burial.'
Thank you very much for your help
