The second does not make explicit who is being helped.
Context is important. Please provide enough for us to be able to deal effectively with your question.

It isn't clear how you intend to use this text, but if you are speaking to someone directly, then the second one would be, I appreciate your help with this child.

It could be, but 'I appreciate your helping with this child' is acceptable.
