Default the bright strip has begun in Sam's life

    Hello,

Here is a comment of a student about Samantha Garvey:
'this story has reminded me about a film where our life has been presented in the form of red and black beads. Samantha Garvey and her family have been living in a shelter - and this is the black bead of her life. Her hard work and aspiration to make life better have made the trick - this was her white bead! At last she became happier and, i hope, the bright strip has begun in Sam's life.'

I am not sure about 'the bright strip'. Is it OK to change it for 'bright streak'?

    Thank you in advance.

There are quite a lot of problems with that text, neither "bright strip" nor "bright streak" are good, but I can't see the point of correcting that without correcting the rest. Sorry.
