    Default nlinkske fought

Hello, I did not know there is such a good web site like this in the world. I should have known of it earlier. Today I came by to ask a question which has bothered me for a long time.

Question is that Do not drink too much. Focus more on~, Spend too much, etc.

I know that "much" can be used as pronoun, adjective and adverb. Then, in those
sentences, "much" was used as pronoun or adverb?

I also found Drink heavily, focus heavily, and spend heavily, etc. Then "much" was used as adverb?, but some people say it was used as pronoun. That's why I am confused now.

Please help me out and get me out of it.

Then. thanks a million in advace.

In 'spend/drink too much', 'much' is used as a pronoun, standing for 'too much money/alcohol'

In 'I drink heavily', 'heavily is used as an adverb; 'I like you very much', 'much is used as an adverb.

'I drink heavily (adverb) ', 'I drink too much (pronoun) and 'I am a heavy (adjective) drinker' may convey similar messages, but they are constructed differently.

Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.
