Can we use 'since' with simple past?
I lived here since 1990.
Or we have to use 'from'?
I lived here from 1990.

I have lived here since 1990.
I lived here from 1990.

In the first, the speaker still lives 'here'.
In the second, the speaker is perhaps re-visiting a place where he no longer lives.

I think from ...until....e.g.

I lived there from 1998 until 2003.

If you use the simple past it means you're no longer living there. Therefore you might as well add when you stopped living there by saying until ....
