    Default Make Something

    How to use "make"?

    1. make an offer
    2. make a payment
    3. make a payoff
    4. make an appeal
    5. make a solicitation
    6. make a bribe
    7. make a deal
    8. make a win

Could all of those be standard English?

    3, 6 and 8 don't sound natural to me.

I'd add #5 to the list of those that don't sound natural. Indeed, I feel that 'make a (noun)' is not the most natural option in most contexts, though I wouldn't change the Godfathers 'made him an offer he couldn't refuse'.

Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.

You can make a suggestion, though.
